We can hardly believe it, but this week marks Middle Branch Partners’ fifth birthday. It has been an interesting ride in the MedTech sector and the markets, with unpredictable swings due to a worldwide pandemic, changes in technology, and increasing uncertainty (economic and otherwise). Through it all, Middle Branch Partners has managed to excel, stewarding and closing major, cross-border deals during every year in operation.

2019

Frazier Healthcare Partners acquired Eptam Precision

In our first major closing as Middle Branch Partners, our client Frazier Healthcare Partners (Seattle) acquired Eptam Precision, a manufacturer of high-precision components and medical implants based in Northfield, NH.

Oberg Medical has acquired Broad Peak Manufacturing

2020

Oberg Medical acquired Broad Peak Manufacturing

During the difficult period of 2020 during the COVID lockdown, Oberg Medical purchased 100% of the assets of our client Broad Peak Manufacturing, a MedTech contract manufacturing business based in Wallingford, Connecticut that specializes in the grinding and finishing of specialized complex surgical shapes and implants.

2021

N2 Biomedical merged with Precision Coating

Our client N2 Biomedical was a portfolio company of Boston-based Ampersand Capital that provided coatings and surface treatments for orthopedic and cardiovascular devices. The company was privately held at the time of sale.

2022

The M&A Triple Play

2022 was the biggest year yet for Middle Branch Partners. We initiated and helped close three major transactions in the MedTech sector: UFP Technologies acquired Advant Medical Molding; Mycoscience and Ethide Laboratories were acquired by Millstone Medical Outsourcing; and Acrotec Group acquired Axial Medical.

Intech acquired Lenkbar

Middle Branch Partners initiated this deal, and advised Lenkbar LLC (US) during their agreement to be acquired by Intech, a global orthopedic manufacturer and portfolio company of Montagu Private Equity of London, UK.
