Acrotec Group agrees to acquire Axial Medical

Middle Branch Partners initiated this deal, and advised our client Acrotec Group, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, during its acquisition of Axial Medical, a precision MedTech manufacturer in Warminster Pennsylvania.

Based in Develier, Switzerland, Acrotec is an independent group reference contractor specializing in components for MedTech, watchmaking and jewelry, and other precision industries. Their acquisition of Axial Medical represents their first foray into the US market. Axial, located outside Philadelphia, is a production contract manufacturer of complex medical implants used in joint replacement, spine, and injury and trauma related applications. This acquisition represents the seventh such deal since The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) acquired Acrotec in 2021, and represents a “significant milestone” as the partnership pursues “the objective of growing Acrotec’s presence and capturing expansion opportunities in new markets.” (Jonathan Zafrani, Co-Head of the Carlyle Europe Partners advisory team, and Simon Pex, Director in the Carlyle Europe Partners advisory team.)

Middle Branch Partners acted as general advisor of the transaction. Greenberg Variations Capital acted as financial advisor and Fox Rothschild acted as legal advisor to Axial. Latham & Watkins acted as legal advisor to Acrotec and The Carlyle Group.
