2019 was seen as an especially challenging time in MedTech with a continual increase in valuations as new buyers entered the market, the number of platform-ready companies decreased while debt financing remained available. Participants believed all these trends will continue to be in evidence in 2020. Nonetheless, other factors may come into play as the longest economic expansion in modern history continues: record debt levels through the economy, trade issues and even sector specific or regional recessions.
